There is an update I've made to the tickets for this year, adding Questions that you may answer when registering for Meeting C++ 2025.

This years conference keeps me busy right now, but I quickly wanted to bring you an update on the ticktes. For the first time Meeting C++ includes a few questions with the registration for attendees. This way we get more accurate data on, but also for the attendees.

The questions

The first question is about data sharing with sponsors. This is an opt-in, as defined by GDPR. While Meeting C++ has been mostly funded by ticket sales in the past, it seems clear that there is a shift towards having sponsors provide more funding to cover rising costs and things like extra dinners at the conference. If you agree, Meeting C++ will share your name and email address with its top sponsors. This then helps Meeting C++ with attracting sponsors long term and become an even better conference for you!

The second question is about t-shirt sizes, and obviously its only asked for the onsite tickets. So far the strategy was to buy enough t-shirts so that we have enough for everyone, and I think we'll keep doing that. But actually having a bit of data on whats needed helps with that!

The third question is about years of experience. This will help to get a better overview on how this is distributed among the attendees. For this data points already exist from the Meeting C++ community survey and an aggregate from the cvupload form. It will be interesting to see how this compares to the conference.

I might add more questions, but this has a high bar of being relevant to the conference. And I prefer to have this now all implemented once, before the call for talks ends. As I then have to import all attendees with tickets from various sources to include them into the voting. From that point on I prefer the import code to be stable.
